This is what seems to separate people most on the issue of eBooks. Me? I hate mass market paperbacks and hardcovers are too awkward. Considering that many books are never published in my physical format of choice (trade paperback) I'm usually more annoyed with the format than not. Now, I still like BOOKS. Real. Paper. Books. I like them on my shelves. I like being able to loan them out or give them away (not that I've ever really had a chance to do much of that). I like walking down the isles at the book store or library and looking at covers and flipping through the pages to get an idea of whether I might like a particular book. eBooks have a LONG, long way to go before they could entirely replace paper books (if they ever could). ( as I'm sure is the Sony), but old habits die hard eh?! I guess the one thing I just can't change, is the book. I'm fine with online magazine subscriptions, even online newspapers.. but not having a nice bound book in my hands.. kinda find that wrong. The screen saver, yeah.. I did some research today and found that eInk doesn't screen burn, so why the screen saver? Because they can?! Probably.. No notes on PDFs (when it CAN do notes on anything else) is really dumb. I know that was a priority for you. And the screen saver kicking on is crazy.
